Twist the wrench counter clockwise to loosen the screw.
Delta monitor shower faucet handle removal.
Remove the temperature cover.
Press 1 for kitchen bathroom tub shower faucets or accessories soap dispenser towel bar etc.
If that is the case then place a cloth over the drain opening so you do not drop the screw down the drain and remove the cover and then the screw holding the handle on the handle should put straight off.

Use of hacksaw or drill to forcibly remove both a stuck cartridge as well.
If you have this type of handle you will need a very small allen key wrench to remove the set screw that is in the base of the handle just look for the little hole in the handle.
That should give you access to the screw that holds the handle on.
To remove the handle.
The handle assembly uses a temperature control cover that snaps into place to hide the screw on the knob.
Rotate the volume control handle so that the lever faces to the right.
The delta series 1700 shower assembly utilizes a one valved handle to adjust the temperature rather than a separate handle for the hot and the cold.
Close the ball valve off by gripping the handle and rotate it clockwise.
Test the handle s tightness with one hand as the allen wrench retracts the set screw further out of the handle.
Gently pry off the temperature control cover.
It is not necessary to remove the back plate to replace the delta monitor cartridge.
You can remove the handle by using a faucet handle puller or by wedging a flat bar between the back of the handle and the wall applying pressure to pry it.
For the other style of valve pictured grip the round handle and turn it in a clockwise direction until is fully closed.
Move the handle until it has moved a full 90 from the original position.
It is removed in the images because this faucet was just installed.
Continue turning the allen wrench counter clockwise until the handle is loose enough to remove from the faucet body.
